Everyone Has a Story to Tell
When the birthday, wedding, anniversary, holiday, or special event is over, now what? More specifically, now what do you do with all those photos?
Most of the time, we download our photos onto a laptop or desktop computer. Maybe they make it into a slide show or screensaver. But that’s about it.
It Only Takes 5 Minutes
But what if I told you, you can turn those holiday, soccer tournament, or birthday party photos into a printed photo book you’ll keep out and look at all the time, in about five minutes. I dare you to get prints made and stick them in a scrapbook that fast!
That’s right, 5 minutes! How? Using the online tools that flow the pictures into the book for you. With most photo book retailers, all you do is upload your photos, select your photo book style and size, and click Build Photo Book. The program itself does all the hard work, laying out all the photos for you. Then you can go in page by page and make adjustments if necessary.
Trust me, this is way faster than building each page one at a time from scratch. I’ve saved so much time building photo books this way, and I think the photo book program does a better job than me anyway!

Get it Done!
Don’t believe me? Here’s an example, I took about 120 photos from a weekend sailing trip this summer and turned them into a 47-page photo book in about 5 minutes. A few clicks, drag and drop, press Order…done.
If you are a fiddler (unlike me), you can literally customize every page, from the background image or pattern to the photo layout and journaling style.
But, you don’t have to journal every moment if you don’t want to. You don’t even have to choose a fancy theme and make every page a work of art, unless you want that.
Honestly, organizing your photos and creating these beautifully printed books takes less time than you think.
Forget the Old Way
In the old way of doing things, you stuck prints into albums by hand, or put them in a binder, and then in a box or storage, never to be looked at again.
Because photo books have the look and feel of an expensive hardcover book, you want to have them out all the time. And people will look at them over and over, which is the whole point of taking pictures in the first place.
Customize to your Heart’s Content
If you like to play, trust me, you’re going to have fun doing this…
- Choose from hundreds of page themes, such as vintage, baby, birthday party, wedding, sports and travel. Apply the theme to the whole book, or go page by page and apply different backgrounds depending on the photos.
- Page layouts are just as amazing. Choose from one to five to mosaic style photo layouts. Go studio, with photos aligned crisply at right angles, or go casual, with photos overlapping at all kinds of crazy angles.
- Journaling, photo captions and page titles can be added easily. Choose your font, resize, and move text around.
- And finally, one the best reasons photo books win hands down over regular scrapbooks….is the full bleed photo! That’s a photo that’s printed right to the edge of the page, like this:
Photo Book Sizes
Oversize: These are the grandpappy albums, usually 12×12 or bigger. Available in leather, linen, or custom covers. Perfect for Weddings. Lots of room for lots of photos! These books cost around $50.
Standard 8×8, 8×11: They are a good choice because the price is right ($20 to $30) and you get lots of photos per page. Covers come in your choice of window cutouts, leather, linen, or customized with a photo.
Minis and Brag Books: These are perfect gifts for proud grandparents! These smaller size photo books are great for keeping in your purse. Depending on the dimensions, you can get one to two photos per page plus a caption. Hard and soft covers are available, as well as a flip book style with coil binding. There’s even an 2×3 size that people have used as a wedding or party favor.
